Terrorism and difficulty in safeguarding US security interests in Middle East

W_ABSTRACT : The study tries to investigate the reasons for the threats against the security interests of US in Middle East after September 11. In this regard three variables have been identified: 1. implementing democracy in Middle East 2. Radicalism of Iran, 3) Terrorism

The study tries to investigate the reasons for the threats against the security interests of US in Middle East after September 11. In this regard three variables have been identified: 1. implementing democracy in Middle East 2. Radicalism of Iran, 3) Terrorism

The study tries to investigate the reasons for the threats against the security interests of US in Middle East after September 11. In this regard three variables have been identified: 1. implementing democracy in Middle East 2. Radicalism of Iran, 3) Terrorism

On the basis of these three variables, three hypotheses can be presented as the reasons of threats against American interests in Middle East. We consider the first 2 premises as the substitute or alternative hypotheses and the third premise as the main one which is based on the third variable and settled in response to the research question.

The main premise of the study says that terrorism is the main threat against the American interests in Middle East after 9/11 attacks. During the second chapter of the thesis the main premise has been proved by applying the indicators related to the elements behind the threats against US interests.
